What is Healthy Families America?
An evidence-based, home visiting program that pairs expectant parents, or families with children prenatal to age 5, with a Family Support Worker to assist families on their pathway to self-sufficiency.
Program Goals
Build and maintain partnerships to engage families in a variety of settings, including in their homes, in the community and virtually
Promote and strengthen positive parent-child relationships
Promote positive growth and development in children
Build family strengths through the promotion of protective factors
How We Assist Future Parents
Identify the needs of the family
Provide the support needed to achieve personal goals
Support the development of positive attitudes toward parenthood
Increase knowledge of their child's development
Improve family health
How You Can Help Future Parents
Anyone may refer an expectant or pregnant family or family with a newborn to Healthy Families America. Referrals are taken from:
Healthcare and Social Service Providers, including WIC, (if they think an expectant person would benefit from home visiting)
Schools
Families (self-referrals or family member referrals)
