Early Intervention (MA)
Early Intervention (EI) is a home-based program of supports and services for children under the age of 3 who are experiencing developmental delays.
What is Early Intervention?
It’s natural to be concerned if your child doesn’t meet traditional milestones. Our goal is to help you and your child thrive by identifying areas of need and building a customized plan to achieve your goals.
There are no out-of-pocket costs for families and self referrals are welcome (no doctor referral is needed to schedule an evaluation).

Did You Know?
- Anyone can refer a child to our EI program: pediatricians, social workers, childcare providers, friends, parents or grandparents.
- Our Early Intervention program is certified by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).
- Meeting Street was one of five organizations nationwide responsible for the creation of the Early Intervention program in the 1980s.
- In 2000, we led the charge to include Infant Mental Health as a required component of EI services, nationwide.
As part of our commitment to inclusion, Meeting Street offers translation services to any family in need of communication assistance during sessions.
