The Carter School Admissions
The Carter School Enrollment Process
If a family is interested in touring The Carter School to get an understanding our educational approach prior to beginning the enrollment process with the local school district, we are happy to accommodate those requests.
To enroll in The Carter School, a student must be referred by their School District. If your child’s IEP indicates that The Carter School is an appropriate educational placement, we encourage parents to contact Karen Rameaka, Head of The Carter School at 401-533-9239 and she can provide a tour of the Meeting Street campus and our Life Skills classrooms. She will also provide an overview of our educational curriculum, our vocational programs, and therapy services provided to students per their IEP.
If you and your School District determine that The Carter School is an appropriate placement for your child, the school district will send Meeting Street a referral packet that includes the student’s current IEP and their most recent evaluations. We are happy to provide tours of Meeting Street and The Carter School when the School District recommends Meeting Street as a placement option for their child. Tours can be arranged before the final referral to Meeting Street is completed.
