Meeting Street Autism Therapeutic Groups
Groups Now Enrolling!!
Meeting Street is pleased to announce the addition of several new Therapeutic Groups that address the needs of children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Beginning the week of September 28, 2009, the following groups will be offered at our new building on Eddy Street in Providence and in the community. All groups will be arranged based on age and ability.

Chatter Matters
Chatter Matters teaches participants how to initiate conversation and interact effectively with others by moving the focus off of themselves, and monitoring and altering their behaviors. For children and teens ages 6 – 19.
Eanie Meanie Minie Mo
Eanie Meanie Minie Mo focuses on play skills, group dynamics, behavior regulation, and effective communication for social interactions using structured teach techniques and visual supports. For children ages 3 – 10.
Get in the Groove
Get in the Groove weaves together movement, music and socialization to improve participants’ group interaction skills. For children and teens ages 3 – 19.
Just Try It!
Just Try It! introduces children to new foods, new activities, new toys and new leisure time activities to help decrease anxiety and fear of the unknown. For children ages 3 – 7.
Martial Arts
Martial Arts uses karate to teach participants body and mind regulation, group dynamics, and behavior monitoring that is essential for social interactions. Beginner and advanced groups for children and teens ages 4 – 19.
Let’s Just Hang Out
Let’s Just Hang Out teaches effective communication and social interaction skills needed in group situations. Engaging community experiences will help teens learn about relationships and self-advocacy. For teens ages 13 – 19.
Connections
Connections is for children 2-3 years of age identified with risk factors for ASD including social-communication and emotional regulation concerns. Parents are integral group members of this group.

Payment Options for Groups: Billing Insurance with corresponding co-payments (Blue Cross and Medicaid accepted) or Self Pay.
Discipline specific evaluations are required for each child upon registration.
