Encouraging Choices

Life is enhanced by the ability and the opportunity to make choices. Unfortunately, many individuals with disabilities traditionally have diminished opportunities to make choices and fewer opportunities to learn how to make them.

At Meeting Street, we firmly believe in providing options for our children and young adults and their families. Through the flexibility of services and supports such as Meeting Street Early Intervention, where families choose when and where services are delivered, and through our innovative approaches in which our specialists employ the latest strategies in sensory integration and offer alternatives in assistive technology, we help the children and young adults we serve achieve the highest level of independence and control of their lives as possible.

From offering a choice of foods for lunch, to providing a variety of classroom and inclusion experiences, to helping explore options for post-graduation opportunities, the ability for individuals and families to make choices is a key factor in each of Meeting Street's core services and supports.
